This is evidence of the confusion that clouds our world and is ruining the morals of society.
A recent news report caught the attention of CNN: A couple raising a baby and keeping his/her gender a secret.
Of course we know the baby DOES have a gender, and sooner or later it will have to come up. It’s so sad that this is a story in the news. It is even more sad that the truth and divinity of gender is being mocked around every corner.
“I’m not telling the gender of my precious baby, I’m saying to the world, Please can you just let Storm for him/herself what he/she wants to be?” -Kathy Witterick,
I aslo read in a Parenting Magazine just the other day, an article called “Pink vs. Blue.” It’s an interview about being accepting of both genders. She says, “We need to work harder on getting boys and girls to respect each other instead of furthering the belief that they’re from different planets.”
It would be hard to know what to believe. It would be hard to know how to raise your child. It would be hard to teach your children about gender….if you didn’t have prophets today that are inspired and called of God to direct His people.
I know I am a woman for a reason. I know it’s more than pink clothes, dresses, princesses or barbies. It’s about my skills, talents, and divine responsibility. It’s a feeling of purpose and reassures me it wasn’t just a 50-50 happenstance.
This is what I believe:
“All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.” –Family Proclamation
I hope you can wade through the confusion of the world, and hold fast to the principles we know to be true. Let’s love each other, and love our gender.
